Perfect Pear
We make very little perry because it is so difficult to find the fruit. Through friends and contacts in Monmouth and the Three Counties I am sometimes able to buy perry pears, but it is such a small amount, I’ll invariably use the tractor powered scratter to mill and the Herefordshire twin screw press to extract the juice. The first time I pressed pears it was outside at night in a hail and thunder storm – great looking back, but quite frightening at the time.
If you grow lots of perry pears and don’t know what to do with them, let me know! | |
